BOOKS

I started to read a book that my mother-in-law told me to read. I love to read when I have the time, but I love to read easy non thought provoking books, you know the bodice rippers!!!!!

The book she told me to read was the "The Shack" It started so strong, and I thought I was in for a great read. The nights went bye with me only falling asleep every time I tried to read the book, or would start to skim through to get to something more interesting.

Alas I could not finish the book, and have now decided to move on to something more my speed.

So the question is do you put down a book you don't like or do you keep reading until it's over to find out how it ends??????

If the book isn't captavating.. I'm not wasting my time.

I hate to read.. ( I know.. we have alot in commen don't we.. he-he ) so in order for me to read.. it's gotta be INCREDIBLE. Did you read the twilight series? Love or hate it? I have heard that the best books out right now are the" Hunger games" and " Catching Fire." Blogs friends have said that they read it in a day.. it's so good.

I have like 10 books I LOVE.. Not much of a reader.. unless you count magazines as reading.. tee-hee...

I too, read 'The Shack', and was like you, loved the beginning, but got bored! I found myself skimming through it, flipping pages, ect. I liked the end, but would I recommend the book, na! I think you made a wise decision to quit!

P.S.I like to read books with some 'good lovin' in them, you know what I mean!! Bring on the smut!

I am a total bookworm and like most books but from time to time there is a book that just never gets better. I do not waste my time. Seriously life is too short and there are way too many good books out there!

I have to finish every book that I start...kind of an OCD type thing. I may skim through it and not read it as thoroughly but I have to finish it...have to!

Nope. I give a book two chapters top. If I'm not "into" by then, I don't waste another minute. Can you tell, I don't LOVE to read so I have to read things I love.

Hi Emma

I posted a comment on your thong blog because I got distracted and I wanted to say hi back after you visited my new blog. That book you were reading was recommended to me also but I haven't got a copy yet. I usually try to push through to see if there is some great ending but when I have to keep reading the same pages over and over because my mind is wandering, I know it's not grabbing me. You might try putting it in your car for when you are waiting to pick up kids and even if you get a page or 2 done at a time- you might just get to the end after all. If it turns out to be brilliant. Let me know :)

Emma, you KNOW I can't put a book down once I start reading it ---no matter, I finish it. And more often then not, it ends up being good.

Yes, the second Twilight book. Worst book ever! I would have rather read my accounting textbook or watched the grass grow. I sadly finished the book thinking it would get better... It didn't so I have given up on all the rest of her dumb books.
I have ended books in the middle if they do not keep me interested and I feel no guilt grabbing a new one. I really like to read books and my time is worth LOTS of $$$ to me, so the book better be the best thing since sliced bread.

Hi Emma
Just read your mom's hitching post.. so happy for her.
I'm just wondering why when I put my mouse over your name when you comment, it does nothing? I like to click and go see you, but I can't. Now your mom's site, no problem.
Just wondering.
Hope your having a great weekend.

Sometimes I muddle through the book, especially if I've got a lot of time invested in it. More often than not, I put it down. Free time is to valuable to waste reading a crummy book. I also lost interest in The Shack.
